05/23/03 - Maryville Fire Chief Kevin Flaugher said the new ambulance that was delivered two weeks ago had its radio installed and the graphics work done and was placed into service May 15.  "Replacing our van with the (Advanced Life Support) unit allows us to have two licensed paramedic ambulances," Flaugher said.  "This is almost unheard of for a community of our size."
11/23/02 - Flaugher said bid packages went out Wednesday requesting proposals for a new ambulance for the FD. The ambulance will be purchased by the Maryville Homecoming Association with funds raised each year at the annual Homecoming. The association is run by volunteer firefighters from the Fire Department.  "We expect to award bids in early January," Flaugher said. "By April or May we should be ready to present the village with a new ambulance."  It will replace a 1993 ambulance which will be sold, he said. The FD also has a 1998 ambulance which is scheduled for replacement in five years. The Homecoming Association purchases the ambulances and donates them to the Fire Department.
