The small Knox Box on the front wall of many our Central Offices holds a key to the front door, to allow access to the building by Fire Department personnel.  The larger Knox Box (aka Call Box) on the side or back wall of our Offices contains RJ11C jacks and transfer switches, to be used by Public Safety personnel taking 9-1-1 calls during an office isolation.  You should have access to the keys for the 9-1-1 Call Boxes within your PSAP's jurisdiction, and we would be happy to conduct joint testing with you at your earliest convenience.   Gene Valentine  Director, SBC Ameritech 9-1-1

      SBC will work with the appropriate government entities in order to expeditiously and lawfully provide phase II service where it has been requested per the FCC guidelines. Depending upon state law, SBC can lawfully provide service with the existence and approval of:
